Letter #11

Hey guys, how is everybody doing? Today was kinda weird, our pday got cut in half and the other half is on Thursday for Thanksgiving so there wasn't much time to do much at all today.

The biggest event this past week was probably zone conference. Elder Pearson, the authority over all the Utah missions came down and spoke to us and let me tell you, this guy is not one to hold back on his words. He is very straightforward and won't hesitate to tell anybody what's up if he feels like he needs to. I really enjoyed it though, he gave some powerful talks and told us a lot about how we can become better missionaries and how we can take the Utah St. George Mission to the next level.

One of the biggest things that stood out to me was how much he hit on our own personal discipleship. He talked about  obedience, diligence, leadership, and other qualities and how as we put effort in growing in these areas will lead us to be more effective missionaries. This reminded me of a statement they told us at the MTC, "obedience brings blessings, but exact obedience brings miracles". The Lord is already more than willing to bless us, He is just waiting on us to ready ourselves through our obedience, faith, and willingness to serve Him.

Thr rest of this week went kinda slow, no one really wants to meet with us since it's Thanksgiving and they are all doing other things but I'm excited for this Saturday. We should have our first baptism here in Parowan! I know I said this before, but Nancy, the one getting baptized, is truly a miracle. The Gospel really does bless people lives and I've truly been able to see and recognize that in Nancy's life.

Hope you guys have a good week and happy Thanksgiving!
