Hello, hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving last week! One question we've been asking people a lot recently is how the gospel has blessed their lives and I've really been pondering  over this myself this past week as well.  There are tons of blessings that I have received in my life, such as family, friends, a warm home, good food, as well as being able to go to church and partake of the sacrament each week, the gift of the Holy Ghost, temples, scriptures, General Confernce talks, Christ and His Atonement, and the list goes on and on.  I'm thankful for all the people here in Parowan too, we get taken care of pretty well here. We've got a ton of food from this past week, our kitchen barely has enough room to hold all of it!  Nancy was able to get baptized this past Saturday and it feels so good, not just because its my first baptism on the mission but also to see how happy she is now.  The rest of the week was pretty good, Parowan threw a great Christmas...

Hey guys, how is everybody doing? Today was kinda weird, our pday got cut in half and the other half is on Thursday for Thanksgiving so there wasn't much time to do much at all today. The biggest event this past week was probably zone conference. Elder Pearson, the authority over all the Utah missions came down and spoke to us and let me tell you, this guy is not one to hold back on his words. He is very straightforward and won't hesitate to tell anybody what's up if he feels like he needs to. I really enjoyed it though, he gave some powerful talks and told us a lot about how we can become better missionaries and how we can take the Utah St. George Mission to the next level.  One of the biggest things that stood out to me was how much he hit on our own personal discipleship. He talked about  obedience, diligence, leadership, and other qualities and how as we put effort in growing in these areas will lead us to be more effective missionaries. This reminded me of a statem...

Hey guys, how is everybody doing?  This week has been great for the most part. The time change made it not so great though; from 5 to 7 we go out and knock doors because that's when everyone is usually home and before the time change it got dark at about 7. It gets dark between 5:30 and 6 now after the time change so we have to go out tracting (knocking doors) for an hour in the dark. A lot of people like us even less now that we are knocking their doors during the "night time". We even had a lady call the police on us. We had knocked her door around 6:10 and she asked through the door who it was and we were like "it's the missionaries". She said she wasn't able to open the door so we left to go knock other doors. Later we got a text from the sheriff asking if we had been at this ladies house a little while ago and when we replied yes. He said "OK, just making sure". This lady called saying that she had some suspicious people knocking her doo...

Hey everybody, how's it going? Sorry this email is a little late, these weeks just go by so fast, it feels like I just barely got done writing my last email. I'm not all that great of a writer either so you'll just have to bear with me.  First off, we got some more snow! It snowed like 4 or 5 inches this time but only stuck around for days. It's been good for Parowan though, they've been needing the moisture.  Abother cool thing that happened this week was that we got to help Brother Adams, a member of the stake presidency, work his cows. He has a ranch right outside of Parowan and asked if Elder Shipley and I wanted to come out and help preg check his cows on pday. I immediately was like "of course we would". Back home I worked with cattle all the time so it was super nice to be able to do something familiar, it was like I was back home almost!  We also picked up 2 new people to teach this past week! The first one was Rick, an older guy who lives alone....

Hey guys! How's everybody doing? Sorry if this email is a little short, things went a little slow this week.  We did have one really good thing happen though, we've been meeting with a lady named Nancy ever since I've been on the mission and she has made a lot of progress so far. This last Saturday we asked her what she thought she needed to do next to come closer to Christ and she came to the conclusion that she needed to get baptized! The Spirit was super strong during this time and we were able to set her up to get baptized on the 12th, at least at first. We are going to have to push it back a little bit now because she missed church this past Sunday (It's a requirement to go to church at least 3 times before a person can get baptized in this mission and she needed to go to church this past Sunday to be able to have 3 before the 12th). It wasn't her fault really, her husband is having health issues and she had to take care of him, but hopefully they'll be a...
