Letter #9

 Hey everybody, how's it going? Sorry this email is a little late, these weeks just go by so fast, it feels like I just barely got done writing my last email. I'm not all that great of a writer either so you'll just have to bear with me. 


First off, we got some more snow! It snowed like 4 or 5 inches this time but only stuck around for days. It's been good for Parowan though, they've been needing the moisture. 

Abother cool thing that happened this week was that we got to help Brother Adams, a member of the stake presidency, work his cows. He has a ranch right outside of Parowan and asked if Elder Shipley and I wanted to come out and help preg check his cows on pday. I immediately was like "of course we would". Back home I worked with cattle all the time so it was super nice to be able to do something familiar, it was like I was back home almost! 

We also picked up 2 new people to teach this past week! The first one was Rick, an older guy who lives alone. We knocked his door, he first invited us in because he thought we were realtors (He's trying to sell his house) but after we told him we were missionaries, he was like "OK cool, I've been wanting to go back to church".  We taught him about the Restoration of the Church which he really enjoyed and said he was also able to feel the Spirit as we talked. We gave him a Book of Mormon and asked him to pray about it which he happily accepted! We're going back Tuesday to follow up with him.

The second person was a kid named Jack. His parents are members but went inactive a while ago so he never grew up in the church. We also got to teach him the Restoration and afterwards he told his mom he wanted to serve a mission too when he got older! 

In both lessons it was amazing how strong the Spirit was! I felt so good afterwards and it was so cool to see how much the Spirit worked on everybody as we taught them! It's really a blessing to feel the Spirit and to feel His guidance in our lives in all that we do.

  Yo what's up everybody! We're quarter of the way done already! Only 18 more months to go! Also this transfer is up, it absolutely jusr flew by.  So we got transfer news last night and turns out I get to stay another transfer here in Kanab! Elder Smith sadly got kicked out, he's going to St. George somewhere but best of luck to him! It was a fun 12 weeks with yah buddy! My new companion is Elder Brown, don't know too much about him but it should be all good.  This last week was great, again nothing too much went on, just doing a lot of contacts and door knocking. It was all pretry normal until Sunday which was a blast. First we gave a talk in Orderville 1st ward about the Sermon on the Mount and how Christ's teachings has helped on the mission, which went great, giving a talk is such easier now out on the mission.   How's it going everybody? This week has been a little better for us, we were finally able to go out and work finally! I've got some bad news though, Daisons baptism didn't end up happening, he decided he wasn't ready for baptism yet and asked us to try again later. On top of that Tikva said she didn't want to take the lessons anymore for the time being so that's a bummer. We will keep trying with both of them though, the wards here are doing a great job of reaching out and fellowshipping them! Please keep Daison and Tikva in your prayers! We were able to meet with another person this week, her name is Ann and turns out she lives right behind us. She is amazing though, she loves the church and the community, she has a few minor things holding her back from joining.   Hello! What's going on! This email is just going to be a quick one and I just wanted to share something that I've learned. We had zone conference last Thursday and the focus was having faith in Jesus Christ. Without faith centered on Him, we can do nothing and so I have focused on increasing my faith in Him. But you know what? This past week has been among the hardest weeks faith wise on the mission yet. We have not been seeing the success that we've wanted and it has been discouraging and hard, but one thing I noticed today is that we've had more successes that I've realized, such as our friends Skyla (who is getting baptized at the end of the month) and Braxton coming to church this Sunday! We've also been able to have quite a few lessons with our nonmember friends as well and we've really gotten to know the area good.  This feelings of discouragement and doubt I now realize were not my own thoughts and feelings, but that of the devil attempting to halt ...
