Letter #13

Hey everybody, 2 transfers down! (Transfers are a 6 week period) Only 14 or 15 more to go! I'm not exactly sure how many total there are, but I am officially done with training now!

This week was probably the slowest week I've had so far, we finished knocking every door in Parowan, Summit, and Paragonah. We knocked a few in Brian Head but there are only a few people who live there full time and we had no idea where they live so it wasn't too effective. Short of knocking everybody again, we just about ran out of things to do. Most of our lessons canceled as well, they remebered they have other plans or they're sick or whatever so we spent quite a bit of time in the office contacting and trying to come up with things to do.

To top this week off I found out last night that I'm getting transferred to Kanab! It was a complete suprise, normally new missionaries will stay in their first area for at least 3 transfers. Elder Shipley is staying behind and I'm getting a new companion, Elder Smith. They really like to keep us on our toes out here.

I wish I could have stayed in Parowan for a little while longer. I'm going to miss all the people here, it's kinda like leaving home all over again. But I'm excited for the change.

The biggest takeaway I feel like I got from these past 12 weeks is how to work hard, it's something I learned before growing up but working hard on a mission is different. It is more mentally, spiritually, and even physically taxing in some ways. But I can testify that the Lord will bless all His servants who are obedient and dilligent in serving Him.

I've been thinking of a scripture from the Book of Mormon, its Mosiah 23: 21-22:

"Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith.
Nevertheless—whosoever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last day. Yea, and thus it was with this people."

This scripture describes a group of people who were being persecuted by others and going through all manner of hardship and I love it because the Lord is always with us even through our hard times. We have our trials for a reason, helping us grow and learn to become the person we need to be. I want to invite all of you to put your trust in God and promise that as you do He will lend His divine help. It may not become any easier per se but like one of our pictures in our apprtment says "I never said it would be easy, I only said it pull be worth it". (Photo down below)

Anyways, thank you guys for all your emails! Till' next week!

Ps. Sorry I sent this so late, today was kinda busy
