Letter #16
Hey everyone, hope your Christmas went well! Mine was great, a little different of course but it was a neat expirience.
This past week went a little slow, no one really wanted to meet with us and a few of the lessons we did have planned got sick and had to cancel. This upcoming week is kinda the same, we've already had multiple people cancel for later in the week because of sickness, and we couldn't even set up many appointments at all in the first place so it's going to be a little rough trying to fill our time.
Other than that, this past week was great. We were able to pick up someone new to teach, his name is Dathon and both him and his little sister want to get baptized. The mom is already a member, she just hasn't been too active recently but she is super supportive of her kids taking the lessons and learning more. They've been a really cool family and I hope that we'll be able to make more progress with them.
For Christmas we weren't able to do a whole lot, we went to some sacrament meetings, sang in a choir, wished people a merry Christmas and then went out and tried to go out and drop off cookies to people who were lonely for the Christmas season, no one really answered so it was kind of a bust. But then we had dinner with our Stake Preesident, President Adams, played some ping pong and watched the Nativity video. After all that we were finally able to make it home and talk to our families and open the Christmas packages we got. We got boat load of treats, some socks, ties, and a few other things. Elder Smith even got a snazzy new suit so it was pretty great. Thank all of you guys for all of the gifts, I really appreciate them all!
We were also able to get a tree and some decorations. It's a little hodgepodge, reminds me of a Charlie Brown tree but for a missionary it was absolutely amazing.
On top of all that, it was amazing to be able to feel the Spirit throughout Christmas day and ponder on the birth of our Savior. I can't truly describe everything I was feeling but I hope you guys were able to have some quality time between you and the Lord.
Sorry about the late email again, I just can't ever get it written on time, but hope your week goes well!
