Letter #36
Hey whats up everybody! Sorry this email is a bit late, truth is they changed our preparation day from Monday to today because of transfers, which are happening tomorrow! (This will just be once every six weeks, every other pday will go back to monday) We got news last night, and I'm staying in Ephraim!
Elder Stucki is getting transferred down to St. George, and I'm sorry to see him go, what a fire missionary! My new companion is Elder Williams and he'll be the new district leader for the transfer.
This week was kinda hard, we've had some trouble getting our friends to meet with us, just because of family stuff, sports, and whatever else. Other than that though, the week was actually pretty great, we've knocked a lot of doors and have been getting to meet so much more people! One of my favorite contacts from this week was a guy from north Africa, and I can't remember how to say or spell his name but he was a very cool guy. He's Muslim and he has a very good, open heart, willing to learn more about what we believe as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
We also had a mission wide conference with Elder Renlund last week, one of the 12 Apostles, and it was so awesome! We all got to shake his hand and he talked to us for a bit about our mission and our purpose for being out. He also expressed thanks from the Lord and from First Presidency as well, and let me tell yah, that felt real good!
Each missionary in the mission also got to submit a question to a Google form and Elder Renlund took some of them and gave an answer. Although mine never got answered, the ones he did answer were awesome! One of my favorites was the obvious and frequent question "how to deal with all of your worries" or something like that and he brought up 3rd Nephi 13:33, which says "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
I've read that scripture many times but it just hit me hard that time, the Lord promises in that verse and the few previous ones that if we are in His service and do what He asks, He will take care of the rest. We dont have to worry about the rest! That whole chapter is absolute fire, you guys should go read it!!
That's about it for now, highlight for today I guess was our district spending 30 bucks all together on a claw machine trying to get a stuffed Bob Ross doll, totally worth it. I hate those carnival game things though, what a scam. Have a great week!
1. Mission conference w/ Elder Renlund, (good luck finding me, I'm somewhere in the back)
2. Hanging out with the Manti elders
