Letter #47

 What's going on everybody! Sorry, it's been a few weeks since I've sent an email but I've finally made some time to write one out!


So first of all, I've been training a new missionary, Elder McDaniel, and he's doing awesome. He's still in the learning phase for sure but he's giving a lot of effort and doing pretty good! We've been focusing on 2 skills mainly to become more effective missionaries: talking to everyone we see and bouncing back and forth between each other as we teach and it's going well. It's hunting season right now and so very few people are home to answer their doors. If we happen to see someone out and about we make as much effort as we can to talk to them, and we've seen a lot of miracles from it! Not only are our skills growing but we've been able to find a few new people who we can teach, a guy named Braxton and a kid named Aidan are the most promising. Scheduling lessons with them is a bit hard right now but I know with prayer and diligent effort things will work out!

Some other news from the past few weeks is now we are on bikes, which I think has been pretty fun! They've also been giving us more opportunities to talk to people. One thing that our mission President has brought up and that I've been thinking about a lot is a sentence from Preach My Gospel, it says "You are surrounded by people. You pass them on the street and travel among them". Well, why just pass them when you can be talking to them? I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is meant for every single person on this earth, they just need an opportunity to hear it. Now that we're on bikes, it's a lot easier to stop and talk. 

Now, we still have our car to drive between towns and over long distances, so we are getting the best of both worlds I feel like. We had to drive down to St. George a couple times for a Zone conference and a trainer/new missionary meeting which I enjoyed a lot. The focus for Zone conference was Repentance and how real of a gift it is. Repentance is how we can align our wills more with Christ's and overcome the faults each of us have, which I gotta say, I've got a lot! But the joy and peace I've felt as I've strived to make repentance a bigger part of my life has been so amazing. One of my new favorite scriptures from the Book of Mormon is Mosiah 26: 30 where the Lord Himself says, "Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespassed against me". 

He is always willing to forgive no matter what, we just need to make a sincere effort to do so! 

God is real, and he sent His son Jesus Christ to be our Guide and Redeemer. I know this to be true! No where else can we find true and everlasting happiness!

  Yo what's up everybody! We're quarter of the way done already! Only 18 more months to go! Also this transfer is up, it absolutely jusr flew by.  So we got transfer news last night and turns out I get to stay another transfer here in Kanab! Elder Smith sadly got kicked out, he's going to St. George somewhere but best of luck to him! It was a fun 12 weeks with yah buddy! My new companion is Elder Brown, don't know too much about him but it should be all good.  This last week was great, again nothing too much went on, just doing a lot of contacts and door knocking. It was all pretry normal until Sunday which was a blast. First we gave a talk in Orderville 1st ward about the Sermon on the Mount and how Christ's teachings has helped on the mission, which went great, giving a talk is such easier now out on the mission.   How's it going everybody? This week has been a little better for us, we were finally able to go out and work finally! I've got some bad news though, Daisons baptism didn't end up happening, he decided he wasn't ready for baptism yet and asked us to try again later. On top of that Tikva said she didn't want to take the lessons anymore for the time being so that's a bummer. We will keep trying with both of them though, the wards here are doing a great job of reaching out and fellowshipping them! Please keep Daison and Tikva in your prayers! We were able to meet with another person this week, her name is Ann and turns out she lives right behind us. She is amazing though, she loves the church and the community, she has a few minor things holding her back from joining.   Hello! What's going on! This email is just going to be a quick one and I just wanted to share something that I've learned. We had zone conference last Thursday and the focus was having faith in Jesus Christ. Without faith centered on Him, we can do nothing and so I have focused on increasing my faith in Him. But you know what? This past week has been among the hardest weeks faith wise on the mission yet. We have not been seeing the success that we've wanted and it has been discouraging and hard, but one thing I noticed today is that we've had more successes that I've realized, such as our friends Skyla (who is getting baptized at the end of the month) and Braxton coming to church this Sunday! We've also been able to have quite a few lessons with our nonmember friends as well and we've really gotten to know the area good.  This feelings of discouragement and doubt I now realize were not my own thoughts and feelings, but that of the devil attempting to halt ...
